Philosophy of ecosomatic healing

In today's fast-paced world, we often find ourselves trapped in a cycle of stress and urgency. We tend to seek quick fixes for our anxieties, only to realize that these temporary solutions aren't sustainable. Ecosomatic healing takes a different approach. It acknowledges our deep-seated desire for connection and a sense of belonging but recognizes that everyone's nervous system is unique. It's not a quick fix; instead, it's a gradual and holistic journey. This approach combines mindfulness, movement, and nature-based practices to help us de-stress and rebuild connections with ourselves and others.

Hi! I am Daniela

I’m a unique blend of a queer Ukrainian immigrant and a neurodiverse woman with a sensitive understanding of diverse identities. My journey of merging into and harmonizing with different communities has only made me stronger and more resilient, especially as I’ve had to integrate my own traumatic experiences. My background in sociology,  with a focus on gender and feminist studies, has given me a deep understanding of the Body as a tool for both self-expression and systemic oppression. My commitment to sustainability and ethical veganism has shaped my worldview and has honed my awareness of the interconnectedness of all beings and the impact we have on the environment. I’m here to bring a playful and enlightening experience to all who seek it! Join me in a journey towards healing and empowerment.

My mission

Ecosomatic practices cultivate the wisdom of our bodies and help normalize self-regulation and co-regulation. By planting seeds of safety during the playtreats and playshops (aka in a controlled setting), participants learn to carry it out into their communities, making them safer spaces. I preach care and non-violence towards oneself and others, with a deep understanding of our interconnectedness and shared needs for safety and belonging. My mission is to help people embody this philosophy and thrive in our communities and as a species.

With a passion for holistic wellness and a commitment to self-discovery, I have forged my own career path by embracing teachings that resonate authentically and have the power to transform lives. Drawing from a diverse array of disciplines including mindfulness, Buddhism, trauma therapy, dance and movement therapy, and the gestalt school of thought, I have integrated this knowledge into a unique system of eco-somatic healing. With extensive training, including 550+ hours of training, 500+ hours of private practice, 150 hours of volunteering as a crisis intervention counselor, and 200 hours of ongoing therapy and supervision, my passion and experience drive my commitment to helping others find their own path to wellness.

Kind words from clients

Throughout our workshops, I developed spontaneity in my movements. Dancing/moving my body is now bringing me much more pleasure. I feel alive. I realized that I could better understand myself through dance and movements. The experience of being accepted in a group while overcoming my complex emotional states and clarifying and establishing relationships with the facilitator and participants was significant to me.

Marina B.

During our practices with Dani, I felt like much tension was released - some I didn't even know existed in my body. I faced and processed feelings and experiences that I don't always have words for. But, in general, after each practice, I usually feel harmonized and solid.

Eli s.

Daniela brought me a newfound joy of expressing myself in movement while being seen. Thank you!

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer 1:1 transformational experiences?
Yes, if you are interested in working individually with me - please, fill out the contact form and schedule an intro call.
What is Daniela’s educational background?
2014 NAUKMA: Sociology BA (gender and fem studies) @NAUKMA (Ukraine)
2018 Social and Behavioral Science: Psychology AS @Santa Monica College (USA)
2019 Mindfulness and embodiment instructor (CPD certificate) @Zhit'Vnimatel'no Academy (Russia)
2020 Integrative somatic trauma therapy specialty @EmbodyLab (USA)
2021 Facilitation of Dance and Movement therapeutic practices @Neuraum (Germany)
2021 Theory and practice of body-mind psychotherapy @Telo.PSY (Russia)
2021 Psychosomatic disorders specialty (taught by V.Levchenko)
2022-2026 Gestalt psychotherapy (Ukraine)
How is this different from psychotherapy or other healing modalities?
First and foremost, I am a spaceholder, who believes that transformation is possible through compassionate presence, embodiment and trusting act of co-creation. More than 500 hrs of private practice, 200 hrs of volunteering with my fellow Ukrainians and my ongoing therapy and supervision allows me to humbly offer healing facilitation.
Do you work with families and children?
I absolutely encourage families to have a customized playshop or playtreat experience! High school aged kids are welcome to participate in such experiences! While for 1:1 work I specialize in ages 16+.
Why do I hear so much about trauma these days? Do I need to know all this stuff if I don't have trauma?
The reason why trauma is becoming a buzzword is because there has been a tremendous shift in the entire trauma-healing approach. Numerous studies had provide evidence for bodily sensation-based modalities vs talk-therapy modalities to be incredibly effective for trauma. The truth is - trauma is relevant for everyone, because trauma can also be a consequence of chronic stress exposure. Trauma doesn't always relate to a singular traumatic event (as many of us might think), it has more to do with an individual's ability to respond timely to the stressors in a natural and healthy way.
Do you offer any demo classes where I can get a taste of ecosomatics?
Starting in May 2023, I will be offering bi-weekly drop in ecosomatic classes for nervous system tune-up online for broader public.Stay tuned!
